It’s only a matter of a couple of days until we know the outcome of the various fights scheduled to take place at UFC 131, but the tension has almost become overbearing; leaving nothing but speculation as a solace.
But the fight that every MMA fans has on his or her lips is the Heavyweight title eliminator fight between the grizzled UFC veteran fighter, Shane Carwin and Junior Dos Santos.

Mere days before the fight, many observers have installed Dos Santos as the outright favorite to clinch the fight and also nail down his place opposite Cain Velasquez in the UFC Heavyweight title bout.
The question is not, in any way directed towards the fighting capabilities of Dos Santos. Anybody in their senses will know the impact of the Brazilian fighter’s punches.
But his question is directed at the man in the opposite corner, Shane ‘The Engineer’ Carwin. Will this fight end in ignominy for him? He will enter the ring for the first time since his loss to Brock Lesnar at UFC 116; a two year gap.
Earlier, Shane was supposed to face another veteran making his debut in UFC – John Olav Einemo. But Lesnar’s withdrawal meant that another credible face was required to compete against Dos Santos.
And trust me; when it comes to credibility, there isn’t a more credible face in the heavyweight division than that of Shane Carwin.
Give the devil his due here, that guy has knocked out 12 of his 13 opponents in the very first freaking round!
And people think that he will just roll over against Dos Santos. People say Carwin say should be wary of Dos Santos’ strike punches.
Are people forgetting the way Carwin toyed with the heavyweight fighter Frank Mir at UFC 111?

Shane Carwin packs a lot of power in his hands and Dos Santos will soon know it too, just like you would, when you watch UFC 131 online or at the venue itself!
